See what I did up there?
So, Christmas is a big deal in my house. Additionally, I've always liked wrapping gifts. Maybe it has something to do with preparing a gift and the anticipation of the recepient's reaction? Regardless, I decided to take it up a notch.
I didn't just want to sing "brown paper packages tied up with string." I wanted to have them under my tree.
The supplies: brown craft paper (I bought mine at Target), various colors of glitter (Dollar Tree!), glue, gold and white paint, twine (Dollar Tree, again!), Q-tips, black sharpie and tape of course. You should probably already have scissors. If you don't, then I don't know how to help you ...
After wrapping the gifts, I attempted various designs like polka dots, a chevron pattern, etc using paint and Q-tips. It's likely that you're more artistic than I am, so feel free to broaden your horizons. I also utilized a "technique" I learned in elementary school: write a word (or in this case a name) in glue, cover it with glitter, and shake off the excess.
(I applied the glitter in my kitchen, near a trash can, because I'm not trying to get that all over my $20 living room rug. Priorities, people.)
I only had seven gifts to wrap, which used up all of my craft paper. If you have a large number of gifts, I would buy wrapping paper accordingly. In a two weeks, I'm going to have another (w)rapping session. Yes, I will wrap and rap (maybe).
I hope you all are enjoying your Sunday, and that I inspired you to have fun this holiday season.
Oh my goodness! I wish I took more time with my presents. Mine always look horrendous.
